I'm afraid of pain... will it hurt?To ensure your comfort, we have mastered the use of highly effective topical cream anesthetics, which are applied both before & during the procedure. Each client is different, but most find our application process very tolerable. NOTE: Limit caffeine and eat a small meal before your appoitment as this will help with pain tolerance. You can also take 1-2 Extra Strength TYLENOL 30 min before treatment. (Avoid Advil since it is a blood thinner.)
-
Is it safe?At Lasting Lines your safety is our outmost concern. We maintain a sanitary clinical environment & use only disposable, sealed & sterile needle cartridges, top-of-the-line equipment & supplies. Our fascility is inspected & accredited by the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.
-
What type of pigments do you use?We create our art with highest quality, pharmaceutical grade iron oxide & organic pigments that adhere to European standards of purity & are ResAP2008 compliant. We only source from reputable manufacturers located in the US & Europe who follow strick production standards. Our pigments are sterile, purified for cosmetic use, and contain NO heavy metals, nickel, amines, carcinogens, mutagens or genotoxins.
-
How long does it last?MicroPigmentation will fade over time. Depending on your skin type, UV exposure and the color you choose, you may need a maintenance treatment every 1.5 to 4 years. A variety of factors affect fading that are beyond our control. For this reason, we cannot guarantee how long a treatment will last on you.
-
How long is the first appoitment? At Lasting Lines we take our time to make things just right. In about 3 hrs and we can make you look picture perfect for years to come. Please enquire about the exact duration of your appointment at time of booking.
-
Will I need more than one appointment?Yes, after the initial treatment heals & has some time to settle into the skin (generally in 2 to 3 months) a secondary session is often needed to detail & perfect your final look. Further, the tattoo will tend to lighten & blur over time. Periodic maintenance touch-ups every several years may be required to keep your results looking fresh.
-
Who decides on the design? We don't believe in a "one-size-fits-all" approach & neither should you. Customizing every procedure, Anna works closely with each client to design a look that suits your facial features, personality & lifestyle. All work is pre-drawn for your approval before application begins.
-
Will it look natural?Absolutely! Professional cosmetic tattooing can look more natural than pencil-cosmetics. Our unique application techniques and extensive range of pigment colours allow us to create results that enhance your features, not dominate them.
-
Can I apply regular make-up on top?MicroPigmentation is designed to give you a "daytime" look. Some women still use regular make-up to enhance their cosmetic tattoo. You can change your new look by applying conventional cosmetics on top as needed. NOTE: All convetional cosmetics MUST be kept away from the tattoo area until it exfoliates & fully heals (1 to 2 weeks).
-
What is the recovery like? All applications look much darker & more pronounced immediately following treatment. They will lighlty scab & flake in 5 to 10 days time, becoming significantly softer & lighter when healing occurs. Some swelling (lasting +/- 4 days) should be anticipated if the treatment involves your eyes or lips. Allow yourself about 2 weeks to heal before attending an important event or going on a tropical vacation.
-
Will I be able to return back to work the next day?BROWS: 100% YES - swelling & redness will subside within 24hrs. Your new brows will look very bold (darker & fuller) for about 1 week after treatment. EYES: Most clients benefit from few days off work after an eyeliner procedure. Your eyes will feel tender & look puffy for 2-3 days following treatment. LIPS: Some clients retrun to work the next day & some prefer to take 2-4 days off to recuperate at home. Your lips will look puffy & the colour will be very intense until the area heals (about 4 days).
-
I have problem skin... am I still a candidate? If you have an active lesion or irritation of the skin (such as rash, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis or very dry skin) in the area to be tattooed you will be EXCLUDED from treatment. We see best results on: (1) Dry Skin with tiny pores & (2) Normal to Combination Skin with small pores. Both of these skin types are non-translucent, not very sensitive & don't bleed easily. Thick Oily Skin with large pores (orange peel texture) tends to bleed more & will produce duller results that may fade faster. Individuals with Very Thin Skin that is hypersensitive, transparent, translucent, very vascular or showing signs of rosacea or dermatitis are generally not good candidates for Cosmetic Tattooing. Please enquire at time of booking.
-
What precautions should I take before my cosmetic tattoo?Give yourself a 14 day window to heal after the procedure before attending an important event or going on a tropical vacation. Limit caffeine & other stimulants day of your procedure. Do not drink any alcohol for 48hrs before your appoitment. No Aspirin, Advil or Ibuprofen (unless medically nescessary) for 48hrs prior. Tylenol is fine. Limit bloodthinning agents such as Fish Oil, Garlic, Niacin, Vit E & D, Ginko Biloba, Q10 etc for 2 weeks before treatment. Just for EYES: Any lash-growth serums MUST be discontinued at least 6 weeks prior. Just for LIPS: If you have ever had a COLDSORE outbreak, you MUST obtain anti-viral Valtrex / Zovirax pills from your Doctor. OPTIONAL for Eyes & Lips: Arnica Montana 200ch homeopathic tablets taken 1 week before & 1 week after treatment may help reduce swelling & bruising.
-
Will you "touch-up" someone else's work?"No, our touch-up/maintenance services & pricing are reserved for existing clients ONLY. If you have had your brows, eyes or lips done elsewhere, we do not go over them until they are alomost completley faded. Full New Procedure prices apply. Please e-mail us a clear, daytime photo of your existing tattoo before booking.
-
Can you cover up my old tattoo done by another artist? If you have an existing Eyebrow tattoo that is too dark or uneven, it is best to have that work removed (with Laser) prior to additional MicroPigmentation. Attempts at correction without removal can be very disappointing. If your existing tattoo is on the Eyes or Lips we may be able to help. You will need to submit a photo & get special clearance before reserving a treatment. Please come with realistic expectations. Universally, the work must be very faded to achieve optimal results.
